Day 332

Sleepless in London

Arrived in the UK at 7AM local time yesterday…

UK Border

After all these years of imagining the process of getting your passport stamped and going through customs, I was a bit disappointed that there was really nothing to it other than: “what is the purpose of your visit”, “how long are you staying”, “where are you going at the end of your stay”, #Stamp#.

My first order of business was to visit the Groupon UK office so I used a Groupon for the Express Train from the Airport to London proper.

For breakfast I felt compelled to order the most tradition dish I could find…

The Full Englist Breakfast: Eggs, Bacon, Toast, Cumberland Sausage, Beans, Mushrooms, Tomato and Black Pudding.

The black pudding was brilliant #britspeak but I was surprised to find that many of the people I spoke to afterwards, most being locals, had never even tried it! As a side note, the cappuccino that accompanied breakfast was by far the best I’ve ever had.

After getting a tour of the office, a boat load of caffeine and meeting hundreds of fresh/smiling Groupon faces I made my way over to the “Poet” for lunch.

I was joined by a few new friends who I was happy to treat with my Groupons.

In exchange for lunch, Odera (far right) let me borrow his Oyster Card #transitpass and offered me a place to stay while his flatmate #britspeak remains out of the country.

Having a place to stay reminds me that I haven’t had the luxury of sleeping in quite awhile, in fact I’ve only been able to secure 8 hours rest in the last 62 hour period if you don’t count nodding off for a second (literally) while speaking/mid-word (sorry Sandra…it’s not you it’s me) or momentarily while standing on the tube headed “home” so I think I’m going to have to continue the tale tomorrow.

Until next time…Cheerio!

Did any of them tell you what it actually is? Thats the reason we dont eat it lol. But if you liked Black Pudding then how about Haggis?
The haggis is a traditional Scottish dish memorialised as the national dish of Scotland, but is another of those we tend not to try lol.

  4. Judy may says:

Is haggis those slimy slimy fish or worms that they eat? Please respond Judy
